Am i in labor? 36 weeks with #2 and sever menstrual cramps

Currently 36 weeks, my first was born 39w2d so i never expected to hit 40 weeks

Having sever period-like cramps. Only felt these with my son when I was already admitted to the hospital and dilating to 3 cm.

Im currently on a stay-cation with my husband in a city about 45 mins away from our hospital, otherwise i would normally go in and get checked. Theres no blood, havent noticed my mucus plug, but these cramps have been going strong for 3 hours and getting more intense, but not time-able.

Im going to lie down for a little and hope in passes but what to hear advice/opinions.
