Can’t stop thinking about this heart murmur they noticed at my sons 6 month apt. How common is it? Did any new mama’s go through this?

My son has one. The Dr said they are super common.

My sons got noticed at his 3mnth appointment, but it wasn’t a huge concern & hes been fine & they haven’t detected it since.
My son is 9 now

My sister had one when she was little and the doctor said it’s really common for kids to have them and grow out of them as they get bigger. It usually just corrects itself. I developed my heart murmur at about 18 and it hasn’t effected anything in my life, but mine is the minor valve so it’s really nothing to be worried about. Most of the time I forget I even have it until I go to the doctor and they mention it.

So very common! It usually resolves itself, and sometimes misdiagnosed.

They caught my daughters the second night after she was born but the doctor wasn’t concerned, and said they don’t usually pose a problem l, and hers hasn’t been detected anymore since then🤷‍♀️ my husband had lived his whole life with a heart murmur and has never had any issues from it
