Anyone else’s lo?

Anyone else’s little one able to sit up, but not able to get into the sitting position or get down from it independently?

My boy can sit amazing for a good 5 minutes+ if he wants to but when he’s had enough he literally throws himself backwards as he doesn’t know what to do yet, he’s currently trying to learn to sit up by himself but hasn’t gotten there yet

I usually sit behind him so if he falls it’s kind of cushioned or I put something soft there, is that the right thing to do, is he gonna have to fall a few times and bang his head a couple times before he realises to be safer? Should I just stop sitting behind and just cushion it with a pillow or something so he’s not hurting himself but he’s falling back? Ahh its just a little frustrating because he legit does it on purpose sometimes, he gives you a look and then literally throws backwards and laughs 😂
