Black spots on tongue?

My almost 6 week old baby is ebf and has had a white tongue almost the entire time since I have had her. I asked her ped if it was thrush and he said no just milk tongue. But her white doesnt go away even if I try to wipe it off with a wet cloth. And now she has this black spot on her tongue that I cannot get off. Has anyone seen this or know what it is?!?!

You may want a second opinion ASAP. That definitely looks like a bad case of thrush. You don’t want it to progress. The black dot may be part of a fungal infection?

This definitely looks like thrush. Did the doctor actually swab and run a sample for testing? I would find a second oppinion either way, but especially if your doctor diagnosed this by sight.

I know literally everyone is saying it’s thrush so you’ll probably listen to everyone else but it looks like milk tongue to me. Both my kids had a white tongue all the time until they switched to whole milk. It looked exactly like this. Pediatricians see hundreds of baby tongues and I’m sure he would know if this was  “obviously” thrush. If there’s no white anywhere else in the mouth I wouldn’t be concerned. Also, I know this isn’t true for every case of thrush but usually the white patches are on the inside of the cheeks and lips too like this picture and baby is usually pretty fussy since thrush is very painful. Another good indicator for thrush is when you wipe it, it usually bleeds a little bit.
