tampons

so i am 14 and i am terrified to use a tampon. i want to use them so bad bc i feel weird and awkward walking around school in pads. but everytime i try and insert a tampon it just doesn’t feel right. i don’t want to ask my mom to help me bc i’m 14 and that would be awkward. any advice ??
