How does the Hakka work?

Is it a pump? Or does it just collect any milk you are leaking? I don't pump because its alot of parts to clean was thinking of trying the Hakka. I never leak milk though, like ever. And can you only use it while nursing? I'm assuming you need baby to stimulate a letdown? If you have one would love to hear your experience please!!

I use the Hakka during my morning feeds (as that’s when I tend to produce more), while I’m nursing, on the boob that I’m not feeling on. I usually get anything from 3-5oz per time. I was pumping, but get more in a quicker time with the Hakka. It’s easy to use as stays on well, and quick to clean too. Definitely recommend as an alternative to pumping!

I also never leak. I use the Hakaa while baby nurses on the other side, and I'll usually get about 1oz. I get more if I use a manual pump while he nurses (2-3 oz), but that is hard to physically maneuver!
I've seen posts of women getting 5oz or more each breast at a time with a Hakaa, but I've never been that large of a producer. And 5oz is when they are away from baby, like at work. I don't work, so the most I get is when I pump 3 hours after he goes to bed, I'll get 3-4oz combined. It only takes like 5 minutes to unhook, store the milk, and wash the pump parts. During the day you could just rinse between sessions, or store your parts in a clean bag in the fridge, and just wash once at the end of the day.

I loved this when I breastfed!! I would use it on the side I wasn't pumping or feeding on, and I was an under producer, but it would collect a good amount every time. I've seen for women who actually produce, you can collect an entire bottle's worth just from it suctioned on to that breast! It's honestly awesome lol
