My 14 month old still isn’t walking and isn’t standing on his own...
I’m worried..is this normal? He cruises around against the couch fine. He walks holding both mine and my husbands, I sometimes let go of one hand and he walks for a while but ends up loosing his balance after a little. We have a walker, but he doesn’t seem to have much interest in it tbh. I’m thinking of maybe buying another one? We have a sectional so he sometimes goes from one end of the couch and Walks himself on a diagonal to the middle of the couch (about 3 or 4 steps). But that’s it.
My husband and I do a game with him to try to encourage him to walk where we stand him up and hold him and then try to let go while it walks to the other parent and then we clap and he claps with us and gets so happy. Sometimes it works, other times he just bends his legs and just does not want to stand and actually gets upset. Or other times he reaches for our hand and won’t let go while he walks.
He pulls himself to stand while holding onto things, but doesn’t stand by himself at all. When he stands he usually is holding onto something with a hand or two. He can stand by himself without holding onto anything for a very short amount of time. Sometimes he just doesn’t even want to stand. He bends his legs.
He crawls super fast though, like the fastest I’ve ever seen 😂
Is this normal? Why do you think he’s doing this do you think he’s scared? Do you think he doesn’t understand? Do you think he just doesn’t know how to do? Do you think he just doesn’t care to? Has this happened to anyone else’s child? It worries me so so much! I honestly feel like a failure of a parent...I know every child develops at their own pace, but it worries me so much!
