Did you eat or capsule your placenta?

I am CONSIDERING doing this and I would love to talk to someone about how they did it or if you plan on doing it. 
Please don’t judge we all do things differently 👌
📍I would appreciate feedback from those who have done it or those who plan too! NOT opinions!!📍
*also does it cost money to take it home?

Yes I did, cut it up and froze it, blended it with fruit for smoothies every day. Never once felt emotional just happy energetic, bleeding stopped day 3, and massive milk supply, my man prepared it for me

I don’t think there are any health benefits to eating it. Like why would I eat mine when it helped cause me to have diabetes during this pregnancy and other issues? To me it would be like eating poop. It a filter and can contain bacteria. I feel like the whole making your placenta into vitamins is just a money grab, like snake oil. There are no proven benefits to eating it.

my placenta was still 8/8 when i delivered. 
i was so out of it that my mom asked my nurse about it since i was talking about it for a while.
the nurse explained how CAUTIOUS you had to be because of all the blood but they do wrap and package it for you. i was just terrified of having it in the home with a brand new baby and having everything sterilized for his arrival, i didn’t have the energy for any of that. plus come on, blood reeks lol.
if i had more of a preparation plan i probably would’ve loved to but idk i wouldn’t trust shipping it out for encapsulates, i’m not a cavewoman & i didn’t want to risk contamination. 
kudos to the ladies husband for preparing hers! 😩😍❤️

I never even considered it, but I am shocked to hear those of you who have talking about the high cost. How can they justify charging you to keep an organ that came out of your own body that they would otherwise just dispose of? I can maybe understand a TINY charge if it had to be kept refrigerated or something (I have never looked into it so I am sure if it does, just assuming) but otherwise I think it is pretty shady for the hospital to charge you to keep your placenta!

I was planning to and had it all paid for and set up to, despite my midwife knowing and telling the staff and me mentioning it and my husband mentioning it. Somehow it managed to get disposed of. I had terrible milk supply and ppd with my first so I thought it was worth a shot. I planned on waiting a couple days before using it due to conflicting information about actually harming some people’s milk supply but all of that didn’t matter because it never happened. Luckily I didn’t get ppd with my second and I was able to EBF so I probably wouldn’t have used the pills anyway.

Yes! I encapsulated my placenta and currently eating it! It has a lot benefits my bleeding stop 4 days after having my baby no pp depression, my milk increased doble or triple, i have lot’s of energy with little sleep I’m not in pain anymore. I will totally recommend you to do it.. best decision ever..

I heavily debated it but then LO came early and they took my placenta for surgery instead so it wasn’t an option.  My midwives swear they see a better mental health outcome in the post partum mums that do it though.  Considering their entire career is working with pregnant and post partum women, that’s more telling for me than anything.  If the cost isn’t an issue, I’d say go for it.  I was mostly on the fence just because of the cost.
