Antinatalism - Is all life pain and should we willfully make ourselves extinct?

lk 🇨🇦🇺🇲 • Take a risk: be kind.

What are your thoughts on antinatalism, the belief that life is an imposition due to the guarantee of pain and suffering, even in the best lives, however that might be calculated (very subjective), and that humans and, according to some in the movement, even animals, should not procreate? I read an article that opened with the story of a man in India who is attempting to sue his parents for having him. The amount is small and symbolic and he says he has a good relationship with his parents, but his point is to scare parents into thinking about this issue and the idea of a person being born without their consent.

There are some cross-overs between antinatalism and choosing not to have children for other reasons, such as climate change, but for the purposes of this discussion, I would like the focus to stay on pure antinatalism and the idea that all sentient life is bad due to suffering and should be put to an end through a process of self-selected extinction over time by not procreating.
