How to get my doctor to give me a blood test?!

My doctor won’t see me until December 12th. I’m 3 weeks 6 days. Can I just call and ask for a blood test or what?! I see everyone else getting blood tests but my doctor just wants to wait and see me for an ultrasound.

My OBGYN didnt order me any bloodwork and my appt is 12/12 for my ultrasound,intake and see OB. I had my levels drawn through my PCP though just to ease my mind

Most doctors won't do blood work unless you have a history of miscarriage or if you're high risk. Measuring hcg is just added stress anyway. Just enjoy your pregnancy!

My doctor did see me on the earlier side but she says she doesn’t measure HCG levels. She just did a urine test to confirm pregnancy, which I did at home. Her reasoning was that it really doesn’t matter as long as I’m not bleeding. There’s not much more reassurance that it can give you than not getting your period. I would just say to be patient, call her if anything seems amiss, like bleeding, and wait for the ultrasound :)
