placenta accreta

I’m 19 weeks + 4 days and had my anatomy scan today. Baby is a girl and is very healthy and growing accordingly.

The tech noticed that the placenta is completely blocking baby’s exit and I have placenta accreta. This is baby # 2. With my first we had a scheduled c because she was breech. We knew we’d likely have another c but this diagnosis pretty much seals the deal.

Has anyone or know anyone who had/has placenta accreta? They told me that if they can’t successfully remove the placenta after birth, they’ll have to remove my uterus. I’m not too sad about that as this was going to be our last baby anyway.

What I’m really nervous about is the potential bleeding during surgery, baby coming earlier than expected, having more placenta issues that impact baby or being forced on bed rest. Doc says to take it easy and they want me back after Christmas for another ultrasound.
