How to dry up milk ?

I have been pumping for the past 6 weeks and never had over supply . However , I have to stop breastfeeding for medical reasons . Doctor told me to not pump and use cabbage . Any advice on how to dry my milk quickly ?

My dr told me tight sports bras 24/7 (helped w pain, I was engorged) and cold wash cloths. Avoid warm water from the shower hitting your breasts. It took about a week

Sage tea, cabbage leaves to help with discomfort from engorgement if you were pumping you have to continue but reducing one pump a day and by making longer strectches, also put some on that mil in the fire that helps me in 4 to 5 days will be dry I did day when my twins passed away in the NICU I was pumping for them I have to deal with that and dry milk after they pass.  I did a that and it helps.

Cabbage didn't do shit for me. Sudafed and a tight bra is what did it. I also weaned myself to pumping 3x a day before I did it so as to prevent mastitis. It will hurt like a bitch, so have ibuprofen on hand while you do it. After I weaned it took about 2 weeks to dry up, though a month later and I still leak if my hubby squeezes my boob lol

I had to wear a super tight bra 24/7. I used cabbage leaves, which STINK so bad but no choice. Also used ice packs to ease the pain. It took close to 2 weeks to be completely free & clear. Good luck!

I’m trying to do the same, had no idea to do all this. I just thought I had to slowly decrease how often I pump. I am afraid if I just stop I’d get mastitis!
