Yes they were on a break but they did not define break. He thought they broke up she did not. He moved too quickly but did believe himself to be single. She felt cheated because to her they were still together just getting space. While they both had different interpretations of “a break” they were definitely on one.

It’s a lesson for all of us not to bring break ups up if we don’t really mean it. I definitely agree with her, but I also think that was where she was wrong.
