When did you start to feel an emotional connection to baby?

I am 12 weeks and still don’t feel pregnant so I feel like I don’t yet have an emotional connection to my baby. I thought I would have this overwhelming feeling of love, emotion and connection to my baby from the second i found out I was pregnant. Don’t get me wrong, I am thrilled to be expecting... but I don’t yet feel that feeling i thought I’d feel and it’s freaking me out. 😔

I’m almost 31 weeks and I wouldn’t necessarily say I feel an emotional connection. I’m super excited, and I can’t wait to meet him, but it didn’t even start to feel real for me until I could feel him moving. I think for me, the emotional connection will happen when I see him and realize he’s really mine!

That overwhelming feeling came after birth for me. It was too abstract of a thought before my son was here. Now I’m pregnant again, and it’s sort of the same thing. I can’t comprehend I’ll have another son in 4 months. My brain can’t process it.

I wouldn't say I really felt connected to my son until a few weeks after his birth. For me, I needed to begin caring for him and getting to know his little personality before I started feeling that connection and unconditional love. It comes at different points for everyone.

I think that I felt more connected when I started to feel movement. Now I sometimes stroke his back when he pokes it out and talk to him a little.  Knowing that he can hear me makes me think before I speak when I am cranky lol. But I honestly can’t wait to see what he looks like. I’m 34 weeks

I started to feel some emotional connection once I started feeling his strong movements, but I didn't feel that crazy-strong maternal bond until almost a day after he was born. The whole process is surreal! It is hard to wrap your head around until you meet them!  Totally normal!

I was kind of the same way around that stage. Once my belly finallyyyy came, i felt more pregnant and connected to my baby :) that and my baby boy’s kicks and movements make me so excited to meet him already

Girl I made a post similar to this very thing when I found out I was pregnant and saw the baby on the ultrasound screen for the first time. I was mid morning sickness and super underwhelmed by the whole thing. I’m now gearing up for my anatomy scan which I’m actually excited for. But I haven’t really felt her move or anything. Finding out the gender helped make it seem more real to me. But I don’t know it’s still not like a strong emotional thing at the moment. I don’t think I’ll get there until I actually see her for the first time in my arms. 
Which is totally fine that moment happens differently for everyone. Don’t worry about it you’ll get there! 💛
