Induction stories?

Hey y’all! Just found out I’m being induced in nine days at 37 weeks for consistent elevated blood pressure. Holy cow. 😳 Things just got real. 
I would love to hear anyone’s experience with being induced, any advice, anything really! 
I’ve been reading some stories on here but it seems like the majority of the induction stories are post due date stories.

I was induced with my first. My advice is sleep as much as you can in the beginning! I was in the hospital for over 48 hours, pushed for 3 hours, and ended up with a csection because I was beyond exhausted from not sleeping and she got stuck in the canal. I was there alone, my family over 1,000 miles away, I was just terrified of every step in the process and could not sleep... so trust your doctors, trust yourself, and sleep when you can!!

Hi! I can’t speak from personal experience since I’m a FTM and haven’t given birth yet- my sister was induced when she was over due and since you’ve read those stories I’ll move along. 
I have two friends that were induced early for whatever reasons. They both ended up having a c section since baby wasn’t progressing down fast enough. Just be prepared for anything to happen, and that no matter what, at the end of the day you’ll have your little baby. You got this mama.

I was induced at just over 37 weeks this past Tuesday. I went in Tuesday night and started induction with Cytotec, after five rounds of this and almost 20 hours later they said I was dilated to a 1, at which point my OB broke my water and started pitocin. The pitocin got me to a 4 over the next 24-30 hours and then I was forced to do constant position changes to try and make my cervix cooperate. They were actually prepping me to go back for a c-section when my OB decided to check me one more time and lo and behold I was at a 9! She left to go run an errand since I’d dilated so slow, it’d been about 72 hours in the hospital at this point, and figured I’d push a couple hours because it was my first baby. Within 5 mins of her leaving the room the nurse realized my baby was coming NOW and had to hold her in while they called my OB back. Once I started pushing I did it maybe 5 mins and she was here! It was long and not what I expected, which is why I wanted to comment and let you know, but so worth it. As much as I wanted and begged for a c-section at some points because of how long labor had been, I’m so glad I was able to deliver vaginally! I was able to be up and showering within a couple hours even having had an epidural and recovery has been very easy! Best of luck and let me know if you have any specific questions!

I loooooved being induced with my first. Got cervadil the night before, and then started pitocin in the morning and got my epidural at the same time so I never felt any contractions. About an 8 hour labor and only pushed a few times. 
I’m 37 weeks today and I’m getting induced on Monday for high BP and I’m honestly much more comfortable with being induced than the thought of spontaneous labor because I had such a great experience being induced.

I was induced at 38 weeks due to high blood pressure. Best advice is to relax and sleep in the beginning. Early induction can be a long process and can be very draining physically and emotionally. Have a good support team with you it will make the world of difference. My induction took 53 hours from start till I had my baby girl in my arms.

I was induced at 38 weeks and honestly I absolutely loved it. Mine was a great experience. My contractions were not that bad I did get an epidural at 5cm dilated only because the doctor told me it would help the progress go quicker and which it did for me. I was only 2cm when I went in at 5:30pm in the morning I was still at 2 so they broke my water it hurt a little nothing horrible it’s expected. I ended up having my daughter at 5:45 the following day of being induced so a total of 24hrs but I only pushed 5-7x’s before she was out.

I was induced at 38+3 weeks and it was amazing ! I had a growth scan as they were worried baby was small and got told to come back the next day for induction. They used pessary tablets. They gave me the first at 4pm had another one that night and then another the next morning. They were giving me paracetamol and ibuprofen for pain relief up until I was ready to give birth and then I had gas and air. She was born at 5:12pm weighing 5lb 10oz.

My induction experience was great! Induced at 39 weeks with my first because baby was measuring small and they wanted to get her out so she could gain weight faster. Same this round they might induce at 38 weeks. Take a warm bath and eat a good dinner before you go in to the hospital because induction can take a while. Overall my experience was great and I’m actually happy I’m being induced again. I hope you have a wonderful experience!
