I have mirena for about a year and a half now. It stopped my periods after 4 months. We dont use condoms or pull out and i havent gotten pregnant. Insertion was intense cramps but that went away. I had 2 weeks of bad cramps as my only side effect. I dont have kids. I got it for my heavy periods.
