i wanna be prepared for when i turn 18, so what do i need to worry about ? how do bills and taxes work ? how does voting work ? tell me everything. also i’m from california btw

I would just google all these things, it’s too much info for someone to explain. All these things don’t just magically happen the day you turn 18 either. I started working at 16 and I’ve been paying bills and taxes since then. Google or talk to your parents/guardians, that will be a bigger help than us.

Save money, pay your taxes, work, work and work some more, nothing and no one is worth compromising your mental or physical health, vote and be an educated voter, utilize roommates if possible to save on rent but realize it’s better to have acquaintances as roomies than best friends - it always ends poorly, eat healthily when and where you can, exercise to keep your body strong and mobile, get regularly checked for STDs and be safe if you’re engaging in sexual activity, trust your gut!!!, learn about mortgages now so you can save, don’t overspend it won’t make you happier, don’t get a pet until you have a house and someone to watch that pet when/if you go away or on vacation, do what makes you happy and always remember to ask for help or advice when you need it. It’s always better to be educated than going into something blindly.

Open up a credit card to start building credit!!! Google info on it really like others said. 
The one thing I will say is to pay it off every month because interest is super high. I use mine like I would my debit card and then pay it every month so I don't have interest, build my credit, and get the rewards points. After only 2 years of doing that my credit was good enough to get a car (used though, I only buy used cars)

Well you just pay bills when they're due. Taxes don't have to be done if you make less than $10,000 a year , you can register to vote online! Being 18 isn't the hard part it's more moving out that's difficult

Claim 0 when you work so you get a tax return. Utilities need deposits. Food is very important be stingy till you find a balance (dont feed all your friends if you dont have enough for yourself). If you find yourself struggling apply for welfare.
