Clogged tear duct?

Dr said my son has a clogged tear duct, said that months ago and it just isn't getting better. Anyone else have this problem? Not a great picture of it, but I don't know what to do to help. Her had that reddish birth mark there too, my husband wonders if that is making it worse too. It's really dry with the colder weather too.

My son has had this in both eyes for about 4 months. I was given eye drops and told to use a warm wash cloth to wipe it away and that as he gets older it’ll get better. It’s improved a lot but every now and then they get really gooky

I would get a second opinion? 
I wonder if there are any drops or anything you could do? Maybe put a wet, warm wash cloth over the eye?

Mine has this problem. And it would get better and come back again. Sometimes lasting weeks.

My daughters left eye was goopy and drained constantly for the first 4 months. I had to have tear duct surgery as a baby so I assumed she would too. The pediatrician said he wouldn’t give drops unless it was an all day everyday drainage (it wasn’t infected so drops really wouldn’t help) and that if it was still doing this at 9 months we could talk about the surgery. Then one day a little over 4 months it just stopped! Has been fine since. I still will massage her tear duct occasionally as a just in case measure, but there’s really not much to do except to wait. Wipe baby’s eye and rub the duct a few times a day, but ultimately you are waiting for them to hopefully grow somemore and that duct to open up. My ped said in the last few years he’s only had to have like 2 babies get the probing surgery done, so it’s more likely than not for it to clear up on its own.

My son haf this in both eyes like that. It went away on its own at 10 months, they wouldn't touch it because it wasn't serious. My sister was more severe and had to have a needle shoved in her tear ducts.  
You can do a warm compress with a wash cloth, breastmilk is suppose to help, and massaging the corner of the eye.
