No medical insurance ??

So I’m 5w5d according to this app and I have no medical insurance I applied for Medicaid last week but they said it could take like 45 days to process. My question is what should I do for my first appointment in the meantime? If I schedule it before I get approved and I do get approved, does the insurance cover it?

If you do get approved, most of the time they will cover care 90 days prior to approval. You will just have to pay upfront and sum it your receipts to them.

Generally, a lot of doctors wont schedule you until 8-12 weeks. So I would call and schedule your appointment not but expect a wait. Where I am they do rush pregnancy insurance. If not, they typically cover upto 12 weeks of back appointments. Given you are still very early, you should hopefully be approved before your appointment date.

I know Medicaid in Missouri will back cover. So if I went to the dr. now but my Medicaid was effective until dec some time then it would pay my November bills.

Ask your doctor but our office doesn't charge you a dime until after you have your baby. That way it encourages people to still come in

Can’t you get the temporary pregnancy Medicaid? You can apply it at a health department in your area. Be sure you have proof of income as well.

I was in the same boat, I applied for Medicaid at the end of September and got a response second week of October. I didn’t see my OB till I was 10 weeks pregnant. I used the marketplace to apply for Medicaid. You can also call and check the status of your application and they will let you know if you’re approved

Usually they don’t want to schedule you first appointment until 12 weeks. It’s different for everyone though. My first baby I had my appointment at 8 weeks by with my second ( went to a diff clinic than the first) they didn’t want to see me until 12.
