Any learning ideas for 2 year old?

I want to start teaching my 26 month old things now such as letters, colors anything really! Does anyone have anything they used that works? Or ideas, even fun learning games to play? is it even possible? I want to make sure he’s leading to his fullest extent.

Children this age learn best through play. So play with your child and try to incorporate colors letters and numbers. Also, just in daily life, point out colors letters and numbers. Kids this age also love fun songs and learn really well through rhyming songs. Just google songs for kids learning colors… Etc.

You can do color days where you wear and play with a certain color. 
Honestly don’t push it. I was worried cause my son just didn’t want to sit and learn. But over time he just learned by playing. At age 3 he knew all his colors.

Like other comments have said, they learn best through play and is talking. When my son and I play I say here is your red car, here is two red cars. Etc. He also loves songs and dancing. I've gotten the melissa and Doug magnetic letters, numbers, and animals. He loves them and carries them around. Pinterest has some great ideas for fun little learning play time if you need more ideas. Oh and books! Read as much as possible. Dr. Seuss ABC book is a favorite. He now points out every letter as I read. I limit screen time but Dave and Ava, and Lotty learns are great on you tube. There are these apps with a Lucas the lion that are free, I think it's just called shapes and colors. They also have a c and a numbers app that my son loves playing.

Play, play, and more play...we limit screen time in our house and he doesn’t have an iPad or watch the phone at all. Not judging anyone else or your family, just saying that is what works for us. I feel at this age they learn most through playing. My son loves being outside and will play with sticks and rocks for hours. I don’t do anything in particular to teach him, except play with him and luckily I have an awesome family who take him to new places and engage with him.

My son is 23 months and knows how to sound out his letters but can’t say the actual letter which I don’t mind. He also learned his numbers through his Leapfrog laptop/tablet. His speech therapist advised for him to not play with it as much since he’s not talking when he plays with it. But she was wrong. I had never spoke to him about numbers and one day he was in his bathtub and handed me the foam number “8” and told me clear as day what it was. I’d say he knows what he does now, because of that toy. But I try to exercise his brain by talking about colors, letters, and numbers all day. In a natural way though.

Never stop talking and playing! That’s the best thing. I also think being around other kids helps a lot, too. We just started our 2 year old in an in home daycare and he’s been saying so many more words! I have the Dave and Ava app on my phone which has an animal game. He’s been saying chicken, neigh neigh (for the horse), pig, and corn for when the pig ate the corn. I colored my hair red and now he can say red. He’s really smart but didn’t vocalize a lot of words until these recent changes happened.
