Recent hormone tests show that though my estrogen and progesterone are both within normal limits, the ratio between the two are off and I am Estrogen dominant. So my body acts like I don't have enough progesterone. My dr prescribed bioidentical progesterone cream at 10 mg per day everyday of my cycle. My understanding is that progesterone prevents ovulation during the first half of your cycle. Since I'm TTC, I am worried. From what I see, 10mg is a VERY small dose. Is it possible that the small dose won't affect ovulation? Has anyone else had something similar prescribed? My dr also suspects I have endometriosis and she said estrogen dominance basically supports the grows of endometriosis. Is it possible that the low dose of progesterone is preventing the growth of further Endo, but still allowing ovulation?
