With slightly higher blood pressure, I was sent to the birthing center on Friday night

With slightly higher blood pressure, I was sent to the birthing center on Friday night. I started with a medication that started contractions. Woke up at 630 Saturday with medium contractions. Contractions got stronger until they were unbearable around 1pm when I asked for the epidural. Contractions were coming and going almost non-stop. Once I got the epidural I slept for a few hours until a strong contraction woke me up (pressure but no pain). My legs became numb and my nurse helped me move around in the bed. A little after midnight I let my nurse know it was time for me to push. We got everything ready and she let me press the button on the epidural one last time. I pushed for all but 2 contractions for the next 90mins, breathing through the others. My nurse ran out to get the Dr and I yelled at her that I wasn't going to stop pushing through contractions. The Dr was in the room for about 3 contractions and the baby's head popped out. I pushed one last time and the baby slid out. My husband announced the gender "it's a girl!" As we did not find out during the pregnancy. I didn't find out until hours later that the cord was wrapped around her neck twice! Everyone remained so calm and my baby was placed on my arms.
