Ovulation Test - False Positive Possible?

Question

I took two ovulation tests yesterday morning with first morning urine and both came out positive immediately. Admittedly, I had a lot to drink the night before and was feeling hungover. 
My cycle has been a tad but irregular recently with getting off bc. Technically I was supposed to be ovulating 12 days ago but instead I got a period (only two weeks after my last period started). 
I know this is all over the place but my question is: Is there anything in this situation that could cause an ovulation test to be positive when it’s actually not supposed to be? Or are those positive tests from yesterday likely true? 
Just trying to figure all if this out and see if anyone here has had similar experiences.

Answer

1) test again early afternoon and with FMU unless your ovulation strips state otherwise. FMU can give false positives. 
2) you may still be ovulating. You may have reached your peak which can last 2 or 3 days sometimes
3) or you're pregnant. Take a cheap test to rule it out. Best of luck
