I recently found out that I’m pregnant (currently 5 weeks) and I’ve applied for Medicaid like I did with my first. Well, I was denied for Medicaid because of my income, which I thought was weird at first because I have the same job I had 3yrs ago. I called them and they said that it was my husband’s income that put me over the top for coverage. My husband doesn’t have the same job that he had 3yrs ago. He makes much less money now. The lady that interviewed me didn’t even ask me about my husband’s income. She just assumed that it was still the same. I didn’t even know that she needed his information because she only asked for mine. It’s been 3yrs since I’ve did this and I’ve forgotten what information was needed. I’ve been calling my local office to get things straightened out and hopefully get approved this time , but no one has been answering the phone. I’m so upset!! I don’t want to make an appointment with my OB and not have a way to pay for it. I really need to see a doctor. I just want to check on my little bean and make sure he/she is okay. Will they even see me if I’m not covered yet?? I don’t know what I’m going to do if I don’t get approved.
