How do you check your strings? How often should I be doing this?

I check my strings once a month.

I don’t check. Mine are cut too short and sit up inside my cervix so there’s no point in me checking

I squat in the shower or put one leg up on the bath ledge and “bear down” (like push down, kinda like when you’re pooping if that helps?) and check with my pointer finger! 
although, some days I can’t feel it and then later I can. No idea why. I have short fingers i guess

I usually only check if I'm having a lot of cramps or something

My OBGYN checks them every 3 months when I go see him.
