UPDATE: Do you think I have a good chance at unemployment?

UPDATE: I did win my unemployment case thankfully.

Before I explain, PLEASE do not leave rude comments. I’m already dealing with enough stress and although I do want to hear opinions from others I don’t need to feel worse about myself or this situation.

I’m 15 weeks pregnant right now. I was at my previous employer for about 9 months. There is no clear attendance policy that I was ever presented with (they basically pick and choose what they want to do) I was absent a handful of times BECAUSE of pregnancy related medical issues. Yes, I know you can’t just be absent whenever you want to at jobs. I am not a bad employee otherwise. I was never written up or in trouble at all until I became pregnant. They were well aware I was pregnant, I told them around 6 weeks because of what was going on. I did not call in just to call in. My absences were for good reason and I had doctors notes for almost all of them, stating right on the notes that they were pregnancy related.

I was told by my management when I was written up that there was nothing to cover my job (which was a lie) and it basically didn’t matter that I’m pregnant or that that’s why I was missing work. I didn’t qualify for fmla because I didn’t work there long enough. I then contacted HR not long after and explained my situation, and they told me that there actually was two options (advancement in sick leave and leave of absence) that I could apply for to cover my job but that I needed documentation from my doctor to apply for them. So I got the paper work from them and planned to have my OB fill everything out at my next appointment and before I could do that I was terminated.

So now I’m torn on what to do.

Does anyone else feel like I have a good shot at winning unemployment given the situation?
