What do I do?

so I am in a committed relationship with my boyfriend and we both want to have sex. 
however we don’t know whether we should get condoms and be protected or if we should just do it and get Plan B directly after. I know plan B isn’t very effective, and I’m not on birth control at the moment. what is the better plan?

You are not ready to have sex. Plan B (think of the name) is ONLY used as an EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE when your plan A (birth control, pill, patch, shot) fails. Plan b is not meant to be taken just because you want to have unprotected sex. Use a condom. Always. Unless you are actively trying for a baby.

Plan B is not something you plan to take ahead of a sexual encounter, it’s for when your plan A fails. So no that’s not a good idea. Either use a condom or wait until you get on birth control (you can use a condom as well as double protection).

2) While waiting for birth control to kick in use condoms to prevent pregnancy 
3) Plan B is only for emergencies, if you take it took often you’ll become immune to it causing you to get pregnant
Also there’s these VCF films that you insert in your vagina and wait 15 minutes before having sex. You can buy them at Walmart for 10$. But I wouldn’t recommend using them without condoms  because a lot of ladies has said they got pregnant using them alone on their highest ovulation  day. They are good for when the condom breaks.

Plan B can really mess with your hormones. It's meant to stop ovulation, so obviously it's a pretty powerful drug. It shouldn't be taken unless absolutely necessary. It isn't healthy to take more than once or twice a year. I had to take it twice last year due to failed condoms, and it delayed my period by over a week each time. It caused lots of anxiety, and my periods were very heavy. 
Please get on birth control, or use condoms. They really don't feel any different than going raw, and they're the most effective form of non-hormonal birth control. 
Other options include the IUD (Which I personally LOVE), the pill, the arm implant, or the nuvaring.
It also helps to track your cycle as well, when used WITH another form of birth control. Please be safe. You should never have unprotected sex unless you're okay with the possibility of a baby. 
Even if neither of you have had sex before, you should get tested for STD's before you do anything. Often times, you can get STD's in utero from your parents and never know it.

You should ABSOLUTELY get condoms. Plus, it would be a good idea to consider getting on birth control. You absolutely should not “just go for it and get plan B after”. Plan B is for emergencies only. Do not use it as a substitute for birth control.

If you take plan b too many time it can make you infertile. It’s expensive. It puts your body through hell. Use condoms and be safe. Or you are NOT ready for sex.
