Brown spotting mid cycle

So I have been on this app for a few months because I wanted to start tracking my temperatures and symptoms. My fiance and I hope to start actively trying to conceive next year. But I always like to get a head start on things. So I'm currently still on birth control because I'm not quite ready to get pregnant as I want us to get married first. I have been on birth control for about seven years. I am 23 years old and I have been getting my period monthly since I was 10 years old. Anyways, for the first time ever I have had some spotting mid-cycle. Just one small spot of reddish brown on my panty liner. I have also been having increased discharge throughout the last two cycles. I have never had spotting during ovulation even before birth control. So I'm wondering what this spotting means. I didn't know if anyone else had experienced it. Per my glow chart I am supposed to be ovulating today but it just seems odd to me that I've never had spotting before during this time of the month
