When to tell

I work for a family as a nanny and I am 9 weeks pregnant. When should I tell her that I am pregnant? I feel like it’s not something I want to keep from her because I don’t want to just be like “oh by the way, I’m pregnant!” I’ll be seeing her shortly. Is it too soon to tell her now?

I’ve been a nanny 14 years and just had my first this October. I didn’t tell any of my families until after we found out the sex of the baby. Some families were cool with it and others weren’t. It just depends on the family. Also be ready to answer the question “are you coming back? When? Are you bringing the baby?”

Tell her whenever you’re comfortable. There is no “safe zone” and the more time she has to find temporary care while you’re on maternity leave the better. Congratulations!!
