Does the gassiness get better?

Hi Mamas
I'm a ftm and just wondering if as my LO gets a little older, the gassiness gets better? He's formula fed, and we've switched up formulas a couple times now but I feel like he's always uncomfortable/fussy because of gas. I keep him upright when feeding, keep him upright for at least 20-25 minutes after eating, burp him, and use gas drops when he seems particularly uncomfortable.
Just wondering if as his digestive system gets more mature this fixes itself? I feel so terrible that he's so uncomfortable 😣😢

Yes, it does! I’ve noticed a huge improvement each week, even. But someone tell me WHY babies are born knowing how to eat but NOT how to poop and toot?! 🙈

Yes it will get better! Babies tummy’s are brand new and need time to establish all their bacteria’s and enzymes needed. 
You could try a probiotic! It worked wonders with my first! But she was colicy, crying constantly, gassy, and she was breastfed and formula fed. It took 4 days. It it was night and day! 
This go around baby is gassy but not colicy or as bad as #1 so gas drops have been doing the trick but still thinking about getting the probiotic. 
Also gas drops need to be regimented, because it takes time to work through the gi tract, so if you do it every few hours it should keep baby more comfortable.

Hi I wanted to add a word of caution against switching formulas too often. I learnt this the hard way and didn’t think it would make a difference but it made his gassiness worse. Our pediatrician recommended Ovol drops. That helped things quite a bit. I also switched to anti-colic bottles, making sure he burps after every feed and warm baths. I think a combination of all of these things has helped my little one. I hope it becomes better for you soon.

My midwife was saying it is normal, babies digestive systems go through massive changes. Try this out, I found it really helps my little man get wind out

There are also natural remedies you can try. My midwife suggested a product called Rhugar (not sure if its available where you are) and it's made a world of difference for my boy. Bonus is it's natural too! It's not forever mumma but I know it's hard seeing your little one in pain and upset. Hope it gets better for you and your LO

Try gripe water. It works wonders for my daughter. But to answer your question yes it does get better. Their digestive systems just need time to work more efficiently!

I use little remedies gripe water and give her probiotic drops once a day, I think it helps. My girl always grunts and gets a little restless and fussy when she’s trying to have a Bm. Doing a warm towel on the tummy and bicycle legs stops her crying almost immediately and soon after she passes it.
Also look into the windy- by the same people who make the nose Frida. Haven’t used it but heard it helps a ton!
