How do you get your baby to drink from a straw?

Question

How do you get your baby to drink from a weighted straw cup? We normally use the 360 cup but she refuses to hold it herself. She will hold the weighted straw cup but can't figure out how to drink from it. She knows to put her mouth on the straw but not sure she knows to suck.
She's 9 months and we introduced both cups around 6.5 months.

I gave her water from a straw first. Stuck a straw in a shallow cup of water, put my finger on the other end to hold the water in, put straw un babes mouth and took my finger off the end. I did small snall amounts at first so she would realize she was getting water out of it. Then would increase the amount of water and keep my finger on the end so she would have to suck, let a little go at a time so she wouldn't get flooded. Then I introduced the straw cup and she figured it out first try.

I watched a 30 second YouTube video with my daughter and did the same thing with my son. Just YouTube search how to teach baby to use straw and you’ll find it. Took one try for both kids and they got it.

I honestly just gave it to him at 6 months and he seemed to know exactly what to do. But I know it’s harder for some to transition. I would just kind of show her and keep offering it to her.

They just get the hang of it on there own I found using straws myself around my son then letting him try drink from it encouraged him to learn quicker and now he's 13mo and just ditched his bottles for fav sippy straw cup

My youngest is 15 months old and just learned how to use one out of nowhere. Just one day she suddenly started drinking out of it. We kept encouraging her to try, and one day it just clicked. Several months down the road haha
