A poem i wrote for my girl on her 1st birthday

A lap around the sun

To my beautiful girl on your special day, the day that you were born. I can’t help but feel so many emotions and truth be told i’m torn.

For on this day a year ago your life had just begun, those tiny toes and little hands that i created, turn one.

I remember the moment you came into this world full of life, vivaciousness and grace. Since that day one year ago life certainly has changed its pace.

Our hearts are fuller our days are longer and our lives have changed for the best. Ever since you came to us as a special gift we have been blessed with such a test.

You have taught us to be children again and live life for right now, that dirty hands and sticky smiles are all we should allow.

Your smile is infectious, your giggle brings joy and your personality is one of a kind, we love you so much we can’t stop kissing you but you don’t ever seem to mind.

On this day we celebrate you and all of the magic you bring, for this lap around the sun now you are one has made our hearts truly sing.
