Employees allowed to say ?

Sooooo a lot of stores don’t say much what they’re having for Black Friday cause they say “they still don’t know” the other day I went to Carters and I asked one of the employees if she knew what they were having that day she said pretty much what we have right now is what were having.
So I went again to Carters different day because I went in to buy some warm pants. Again I asked different employee this time and she said they didn’t know yet so I was oh okay.
So I’m curious to know do Employees know what they’re having for Black Friday and aren’t allowed to say anything until close to that day ? Or ? Do they not really know ?
Cause I went in different days and I heard two different things same store different worker

I don't feel like employees care to ask what they're "having" for Black Friday. I'm sure most are just dreading the fact that they have to shoe up lol.

As a retail worker; i couldnt care less, even if they told us/advertised what is going down, I probably wouldnt remember unless it was something I am interested in.
As a customer: if I really wanted something and I knew that store participated in black friday, I would wait until then, on the off chance it got reduced. If not I can still buy the same thing for the same price anyway.

Regular employees typically don’t know until the day of or before. Managers and higher ups are the only ones who know & its unlikely they tell anyone.

I’d be kind of annoyed if a store said they already had the Black Friday deals on. But I don’t think they even care, I work at Tim’s in a Walmart and I’ve heard a lot of employees talking about how they hate Black Friday and can’t wait till it’s over, so I doubt they cared to ask what’s on sale

We're having Black Friday specials at my company and it's literally just me, the owner of the company, the marketing guy and the operations manager that know what they are. No one else knows.
Obviously they don't want sales to reduce while people are waiting to hear what the specials are.
I don't think it's a big deal that the staff don't know.
Also you can't post anonymously in this group so if you don't take it off, your post will be moved/ deleted.

We find out like three days before actual Black Friday what the sales will be in our store so it’s a surprise for us too lol

Stores take it really seriously. If their sales aren’t posted yet, they either really don’t know or cannot tell. I used to work at Best Buy and they would say if we leaked the sale before they announced it we could get fired. We were always told the sales so we can prepare. Now they share the ad weeks in advanced though.

Some dont know. Full time employees would know more than part time and they may not be allowed to tell. The one that told may not care about the rules and the one who doesn't answer might care more about the rules.
