First IUI: Injections or oral medicine?

Hey ladies! We are getting our first IUI done in a couple weeks, and the doctor asked us if we want to do injections, or oral medication. Do any of you have experience with both, and could help me decide which route to go? They said the injections give you twice the chance, So it sounds promising, but the medications are $400 versus less than $100. Thanks in advance!

We did 4 timed intercourse rounds, that oddly failed (we have 3 kids) and this cycle we’re taking 7.5mg letrozole and Gonal F injections for our first iui. With oral, I had one follicle each time that would barely make it to 18mm by cd18. So we added Gonal F injections in and I’m getting 2-3 follicles each time that are ready by cd13-14. Injections will definitely up the follie game for you, but as always, with that comes a risk of multiples

I am surprised they said it can double success rates. From what I’ve read, it’s not that big of an increase. Injectibles increase your chances of multiples. I might start with pills and then do injectibles if the first 1-2 iui don’t work with pills.

We did three rounds of clomid (oral) and going with injectables for the next one. I don’t have any insight yet since I’m still waiting for results from my 3rd iui but we weren’t given the choice. Clomid side effects can be tough though

Our doctor recommended starting with injectables. When I asked why, he said that due to my history of loss, injectables were the better option, somehow they help or have shown a better result when it comes to miscarriage, which the oral meds like clomid did not. It's been a long time, so I can't remember specifically what he said, but that was the general idea
