My placenta might not expel after birth. What would you do?

This is my second pregnancy. I might have a condition where the placenta is stuck and needs to be removed manually. 
Ultrasound isn’t 100% at this case so my doctor gave me 2 options.
I can either, be induced and give birth vaginally but if placenta doesn’t expel after baby comes out, my ob said he can manually remove it by sticking his whole arm up there and scraping it out. 
Now if it doesn’t come out with him scraping it, I might need surgery to remove it so he will have the operation room ready in case I need to be cut open.
Another option, I can have a scheduled c section and he can get baby out then work on placenta. The trick here is that we don’t know for sure if the placenta is gonna be stuck or not It might just come right out. So mommies. I need your help. 
Would you go with vaginal or c section? 
I’m leaning more towards c section because if it doesn’t come out I don’t want to have a double recovery of vaginal birth AND c section. 
***i had a complicated free vaginal delivery with my first so this would be my first c section, also my last baby!!!****

I would go with C section. I hemmoraged after my birth with my daughter and had them shoving their hand up there to try to stop the bleeding was more painful then the birth. Then they were saying prep the OR, believe me you do not want to have to go through surgery after all that.

So my first was a c section and my second was a vbac. I had placenta retention after my vbac. The doctor tried to remove it manually and it was extremely painful. It did not last long thankfully, but she was not able to get it out. I started to hemorrhage and had to be rushed to the OR for a d&c. But, why do you have to be cut open, why can’t it be removed by d&c?
I guess it depends on what the odds are that you’d be required to have surgery. Like is it an 80% chance? Then I’d probably just have the c section.

C section sounds like the safest option. I had a scheduled CS with my first and it went amazing. They really aren’t as bad as everyone makes them sound. Totally your call though. Do what you feel is safest and best. Personally I wouldn’t want to risk it not fully coming out if the doctor does have to remove it by sticking his hand up there. Good luck!

After I delivered my second they had to manually remove my placenta. They thought they got it all but didn’t and at 11 days post partum I got an infection and had to have a D&C. Could your doc perform a D&C post vaginal delivery instead of a c-section to remove it or remove any remaining parts if they don’t get it all during the manually extraction? For what it’s worth the manual extraction itself wasn’t that terrible for me.

After giving birth to our 1st,  placenta refused coming out normally so doc did d&c for me and everything went well.  Do you really have to go for cs? When you can do d&c evacuation

Hmm they shouldn’t have to do a csection if they need to manually remove it. That seems very odd. Personally no way would I opt foe a csection unless it was medically necessary but that’s me. What condition is this? I’ve never heard of something like this.

I would ask if you have placenta accreta. If so I would have a c section.

I would figure out exactly what this condition is and do as much research as you possibly can. Look at the facts. Figure how just how likely it is to even cause complications. I have never heard of anything like that so I’m very curious to know the name of the condition and how they can already tell. Being informed is key, then no matter what happens you know that you had all the information available to make a decision that’s best for you. While csections are common, they do carry a lot of their own risks. So it’s very important to weigh that as well.
