How to child proof tv?

Unable to wall mount as it’s a rental, two walls are windows and this one has a heater

We rent and wall mounted. Can of plaster is cheap and you can paint over it if needed.

I'd definitely start with a bigger tv stand that the tv actually fits on. 
I'd also go for one that is able to mount the TV onto. And much taller than what you're currently using.

Get a new stand that's at least as wide as the tv and use a strap like this to mount the TV to the stand.

You could put one of those baby gates around it. They are made of plastic and kinda of remind you of the rugrats.

I'd mount it over the mantle in the other room.  I don't understand why it's where it is I guess🤷🏼‍♀️ Id be just as afraid of an adult knocking it off since it doesn't fit on that stand.

Put holes in the walls n patchem later it’s a $20 fix from Home Depot. I’ve rented 3 separate houses and I’ve mounted all my TV’s because of my 2 crazy kids

What country are you in ? Australia just past a new law that lets renters mount furniture/tv/objects that pose danger to babies and children. We just have to fix up the tiny wholes when we leave.

We had a similar problem with our house. Only wall available has a window in the middle. We got a large tv stand that is the correct size for the tv, and bolted the tv to it.
