Does anyone have OCD? Or know anyone with ocd?🆘

My little brother (20 years old) already has 2 years with ocd and hasn’t been properly helped. His ocd seems to get worse. He is seeing both a psychiatrist and psychologist. But neither don’t seem to help him or don’t care to help him. He has seen others but he tells us that they all seem uninteresting I’m helping him. He is on medication. He is taking Pexil? And I think is he is also taking sleeping pills. And all they do is just higher his dosage. My brother is losing faith that he will get helped and that scared us all. 
Pleas if you can help by giving me any advice of what medication you are taking or how you are dealing with this. I would truly appreciate it! 👏🏼

I have OCD along with a few other issues and I haven’t found many medications helped much and some seemed to just make it work. I’m not much help because I just try to live with it, and it also really depends on what type of OCD he has and how severe

My brother has OCD, he uses Zoloft though, I asked him some questions for you and he said there’s not really any medicine that are specifically for OCD and more so a bunch of medicines that kind of help it, and combined with therapy it helps him. He still has his moments though, and has little things he has to do everyday that he will probably always do.

What OCD does your brother have? There is so many different forms of OCD. I have a couple different ones. And nothing helps me with it. My aniexty medicine helps me from playing with my fingers. But yea there really isn't much that can help with OCD. Support from family and fixing routine might help a little

Ocd is so debilitating. I recommend looking for a therapist who specializes in it.
I take Zoloft and abilify for my ocd. It’s the abilify that makes a huge difference- it’s made the obsessive thoughts wayyyy more manageable. I have been side effect free as well fortunately.
There are shitty therapists just like in every other profession. Don’t settle until you find one that works. There ARE behavioural therapies that can change your life if you have ocd. Don’t give up
