Diarrhea Means Labor Approaching ??

I’m a ftm and I’ve had diarrhea and the cramps too for about a week or 2. I’m 38w1d. Don’t know how accurate the whole “Diarrhea means labor is approaching” is. What is your input on it? Was it true for you or have you never experienced it?

A lot of people have said that your body does tend to clean itself out in preparation, so could be!

I had it exactly 48 hours before my water broke with my last pregnancy. I should mention it was crampy diarrhea for about a half hour...like I ate something bad. It is thought to be the hormones helping to clean you out in preparation for birth. Often women have loose bowel movements late in pregnancy due to everything being squished but this is different. Sounds odd but it’s the one time in my life I look forward to an intestinal ailment...38 + 4 here and stomach feels fine😕

I had it the night before, definitely cleans you out so you don’t go while in labor.

I was also 2-3 days before feeling like the flu but not weeks.

I had diarrhea for like 4 hours as I changed from early labor to active labor, definitely not for weeks

This is my fourth babe and in my experience it happens more while in labor due to the pressure and contraction’s. Not sure about leading up to...BUT there’s no one way to labor so who knows. I personally think if it’s happening before it’s just from added pressure 🤷🏻‍♀️ stay hydrated though if it’s been goin on that long! 🥰

When I went into labor with my little one I had no diarrhea but the nurses did say it was natural to poo whilst giving birth as its the bodies way of cleaning itself out before baby comes apparently.
