Shingles?

Do I need to be treated if I’ve come into contact with a person with shingles?

I would ask the doctor just in case. But my understanding is that if u have not had the chicken pox or the shingles vaccine, then you can be infected with the virus. If u had the chicken pox, then u should have immnunity to shingles. But even with the latter, i would be cautious & try to minimize contact with that purpose.

I had the chicken pox vax as a child (in the 80s) right after got the chicken pox then recently (about 2 months ago) got shingles. 
As long as you don’t touch the infected area you are fine.

Definitely just mention it to your doc! I had shingles while pregnant and they didn’t want me to be around anyone that was pregnant.

Ugh I had shingles while pregnant. It's not fun. Worth mentioning to your doc, but it's only contagious if you haven't had chicken pox or the vaccine. You won't be able to take a shingles vaccine while pregnant, but you shouldn't need the prevention if you had the chicken pox previously, or that vaccine.
