I dont get why people say this! Marriage literally shouldn't change a damn thing (make it "harder" all of a sudden).

I think first pregnancy/ baby is hardest

Absolutely not and if someone feels like it is, then I say god speed for the years to come. My husband and I have a great relationship but the first year should never be the hardest.

When I first moved in with my SO.. that was the hardest for a couple of months.

I only say yes because we had a lot of stressors within the first year of our marriage. We experienced 3 deaths in the family, and close friends of ours being in jail for drugs. Got into a car accident. But we had good stressors like got a place of our own, got pregnant, bought a new car. But with everything that went on, we stuck with each other.

I don’t get why people say this. First year and second year were fine, only issues were outside factors (my family) not our relationship.

I don’t think there’s any one year that’s the hardest. It just depends on circumstances and life experiences. Life can suck the first year and make the first year hard, or life can suck 30 years in and make the 30th year the hardest. For us, the first year happened to be hard because of everything we went through in that year. It’s different for everyone!
I will say that the first year is definitely a learning and a growing year. It can be challenging to figure out how to merge two lives. Some people find that really really hard. The first year has some different challenges that get easier to navigate as you are married longer.

I thought that first year was considered the “honey moon phase” where everything is amazing and then most couples go through a fall out after the pass that phass

Only if you marry a person that you don’t know FOR REAL, and then the first year is the year of surprises (usually not positive ones)
