Early private scan?

Has anyone paid for a early private scan at almost 7 weeks I’m debating paying to have a private early scan for tomorrow after having some bad cramping but my doctor won’t send me for an early scan through the nhs and was the scan worth the money

I had one at 9 weeks almost a year to the day as I was anxious. That was the day I found out I’d lost our baby. It’s worth doing for piece of mind, but I’d go to the EPU instead. It was heartbreaking enough without then having to pay £75 for it. good luck xx

Do you not have an early pregnancy unit in your hospital ? I has bleeding at the start of my pregnancy and had two scans, one at 8 weeks and one at 10 x

I waited till 8 weeks and got a private scan with a doctor. She was amazingly reassuring about the pregnancy based on the scan and it put my mind to rest. Worth it for me but I wouldn’t go too early.

Abosolutly worth it, I had one at 7 weeks 1 day and we saw a heartbeat and put our mind at ease. We are now announcing before our 12 week scan here

I had a reassurance scan at 9 weeks. Personally I wouldn’t go any earlier than 8 weeks

I’ve booked to go on one at 8 weeks for my own piece of mind. Waiting until 12 weeks is hard!!

I had an early scan I had 2 missed misscarrages. I then went on to have my gorgeous son. I didn't have an early scan as I was too scared to go. This time I went at 9 weeks. It was such a relief. If you can afford one I would go. We also went for an early gender scan. More of an excuse to see baby again xx

If it will put your mind at rest and you can afford it then go for it. I will say though that cramping in early pregnancy is normal - Your uterus and everything around it is stretching, along with the hormone called relaxin which helps things stretch. I had cramping in my first pregnancy from 5 to 9 weeks. This time I didn't have any, presumably because it's already all been stretched once. Good luck with whatever you decide x
