“White coat syndrome”

I just wanted to know whether there’s anyone who experiences “white coat syndrome” - which is basically elevated blood pressure when in a medical environment.

For some reason getting my blood pressure taken by the doctor or midwife increases my pulse and as a result my blood pressure! It’s like I’m anxious of getting a bad result, but the anxiety causes a bad result!

I’m 20 weeks pregnant and have been told I now need to have extra scans due to a higher risk of pre eclampsia attributed to my blood pressure. But I know it’s normal in a normal environment!!! How can I overcome this??
