When did you start baby on rice cereal?

My baby is 5 months old. Has 2 teeth that have come through. He eats formula I feel like constantly.. when did you start doing some rice cereal?

Never. It has no real nutritional value, we just waited until 6 months and then did baby-led weaning.

We started 4.5 months and I did Earths Best Organic Oatmeal mixed with a little breast milk in a bowl. She loved it. And oatmeal is better on their stomachs than Rice cereal

There are no nutritional benefits BUT the benefit of starting cereal instead of baby food is that it is closer to the taste of their milk so it’s not a bunch of new things at once! I had to do cereal with my baby, he would not eat baby food because the taste was too much for him.
