Is it selfish to wait for a family holiday to annouce your engagement?

This is what my fiancé & I have decided to do, just so we can tell everyone at once, but now I feel like we’ll be the center of attention & I don’t know if that’s fair

Personally, I think it's a bit tacky, unless you are hosting. I also hate holiday engagements. But to each their own.

We are a military family so both of our immediate family (parents/siblings) live in other states. We are headed to my in was for thanksgiving and plan on telling them and my parents tomorrow since we never see them in person!

I wouldn’t do it then. I’d want to have my own time instead of using family time. But that’s just me
