Preemie and carseat?!

So my 4lb 10oz preemie is coming home hopefully next week after being in there for little over a month. They told us to bring her carseat in tomorrow to do a carseat test but we bought one before she was even born, it's the chicco keyfit carseat and it says it holds 4-30lbs, but when I looked at it the crotch buckle only has one slot so I cant put it back any further and I'm worried she wont fit. Has anyone used this carseat before or one like it??

There’s a safe way to use a rolled up receiving blanket to pad the sides or the crotch, if the buckle is to far to fit snugly. The NICU probably offers a car seat safety class. Or the nurses can show you.

This is my 4lb 8oz premie in a click connect graco carrier.. the hospital did the receiving blankets

If it’s rated for 4lbs I would think it was fine. Ours was 4.11lbs when we brought her home. We had the Graco click connect though.

If your worried you can order a premature car seat insert thing that goes in the seat to make it smaller for them. A few mum's when I were in bought these and they swore by them.
