Have you ever eaten at a restaurant (not fast food) alone?

I recently moved 12+ hours away from all our family & friends. It’s tradition to go Black Friday shopping with my mom, but obviously that’s not an option 😝 I’m going out shopping on my own tomorrow & there is a restaurant I love but never get to go to (my LO has food allergies & it’s not an option). I don’t have anyone to go with, but 1/2 of me is thinking about going on my own. The other 1/2 thinks it’ll be awkward af & not worth it. I really want one of there drinks most of all, so a to go order wouldn’t be worth it.

Yes and I enjoyed it. I don’t understand why our society thinks eating alone is so weird lol. I went to a T.G.I. Friday’s by myself because I love their pretzels lmao. The waitress seemed concerned for me but idc. I’ve also gone to a chili’s by myself.

I’ve done it a couple times and one time I did it was at a local diner type place and an old couple I don’t know felt bad for me and paid for my meal which was nice 🤣 haha I haven’t done it since becoming a mom but I sure would like to haha 🤣

I do frequently because I travel for work. I prefer sitting at the bar or in the bar area over a regular table.

There was a time I would never have dared. But now that I have a kid, dinner at a nice restaurant alone sounds like a pretty nice vacation 😂

I love it! I love trying new places and people watching and being around people but not necessarily having to interact. I prefer sitting at the bar or lounge area when I'm by myself. I often bring a book or magazine to read while I wait for my food. Enjoy!

Before I got into teaching I used to travel for work about once a month. I went all over for conferences and usually alone. I would actually skip the big welcome dinners and go find somewhere to go solo. I actually love, and miss, doing things alone. I would go to restaurants, movies, and even theme parks alone. It is awesome.

I do it all the time, usually when I’m traveling for work. But it’s always been fine. And makes you feel independent 😊

Totally go! I’ve done a lot of traveling and have eaten in restaurants by myself a lot. Often sitting at the bar feels a little less awkward than sitting at a table but sitting at a table really isn’t that bad.
