How to deal with not showing affection?

My boyfriend is horrible at showing affection, I know he loves me but he is so bad at showing it. I mention it to him and he explained that he is always been bad at showing affection.  I can tell when I mention it to him he tries hard to show it but it usually fades after a week or so. How do you deal with dating someone who doesn't show affection?

Maybe he never got the chance to learn it. In some cultures ot seen as a weakness if men show affection. Is it possible that he shows affection in a different way, maybe by doing things for you? If he never learned how to show affection it will take him time to learn it it's really hard to get out of old habits. Just show him affection and don't tell him all the time.

I dated someone like that and broke up with him. That wasn’t the main reason there was other things. But now I’m with someone who shows me constant affection and I love it
