When i set boundries she threatens suicide

Anyone else have an overbearing and controling, narcisistic type mother? Whenever I tell her I am an adult and she needs to respect my boundaries she threatens suicide. Anyone else have a mom like this?

I would the police do a welfare check on her and then tell her to grow up and talk to me when she’s got her life together

My mom would do that when I was in middle/high school. She’s changed a bit since then but I hated it. If I were you I’d tell her that you’re going to call the cops when she threatens suicide so they can take her.

Good for you for setting boundaries. She's using emotional blackmail to manipulate you. When she does that let her know you're not a licensed therapist but you'll call the authorities to make sure she gets a psych eval from someone who has the necessary credentials.
