Would it even be worth it to try a kids salon for my son?

Question

We’ve tried cutting his hair at home, the barbershop (a few different ones), we’ve tried bribery, distractions, you name it. 
He’s 3 and hates hates hates hair cuts. Like screams bloody murder. 
His hair is wild, thick and nearly impossible to make look decent. 
Kinda torn if we should give a kids salon a try or not even bother for another few months after winter? 
(Thank goodness for winter hats😂🥴)

My son screamed bloody murder until he puked during his first haircut. Then we had him go a few times to watch his dad get a haircut and also watched videos of other kids get their haircut and not cry. We now take him to the same lady that cuts my husbands hair and it is always a breeze. She lets me hold him on my lap and gives him a sucker while she cuts his hair. She is also amazing with him!!! So I guess the trick is no matter where you take them the person cutting there hair has to be good with kids too.

My makeup artist does my son's hair. Shes extremely pretty so my son gets distracted by how cute she is😂 hes 2 and says "mama hers cuteeee" shes the only person besides my dad that he will let touch his hair.

I took my son to the kids salon and we got blessed with an angel of a hair dresser she made it fun, took so much time to get him used to it, etc. and they put a show on for them .he loves haircuts now.

We went to a kids salon a few times and the ladies were all really quick and efficient. My kiddo also got to stand in the car chair the whole time instead of sitting which was better to him. It’s worth a try if you are struggling with hair cuts.

Yes! Definitely look at reviews. My son just went for his first haircut at 2 and HATES strangers. He has so much anxiety around them. He of course cried and moved the whole time (he was in my lap), but this lady was awesome with him! She did the whole cut in literally 10 minutes and it looked great. She was super patient and kind. She even added some blue and gave him a balloon afterwards.😊 she also told me that shes seen worse so that made me feel better🤣.

Idk if this is similar but I know some kids hate having their teeth brushed by their parents but are totally fine with a dentist. Like a different setting helps?

Maybe. I would definitely call up there and let them know the situation to see if they can accommodate. I mean I know that’s what they’re there for but it’s always good to give people a heads up or maybe even get the name of a certain stylist who can help! Also- have you tried a phone or tablet while you cut his hair? My son is 4 but we’ve let him have some screen time during his hair cuts for awhile just because that’s the only way he’ll be still and calm thru the whole thing.

Yes. My son's haircutter is a miracle worker. He does not have a single issue getting a haircut-- & this is a child who screams bloody murder in settings with tools/equipment (vet, my opthalmologist, pediatrician, etc.). Kids' haircutters not only work really well to allay fears, but also they have fun stuff to make them distracted & happy (kids' tv programs, fun chairs shaped like things like cars, etc.).

I took my son to a kids salon and I wasn't impressed at all. I know it could have just been my experience but Im going to take him to a barber next time. If call ahead and call a few places to see who has experience with toddlers, some are really good. I think it's worth a try anyways.
