Has anyone made cinnamon ornaments with their kids?

I teach two year olds and I was going to make some and let them decorate them but a lot of the recipe call for applesauce and it just seemed like using that would cause ants

Just make sure none of them are allergic to cinnamon. Some people who smell cinnamon can go into anaphylaxis.

Have you tried salt dough? I’ve used that in an after school program. Or you can get plain white tiles from Lowe’s or a store like that for cheap and have them decorate them. I took their picture and glued them one. Then they decorated it like they were playing in the snow.
